Richard Stallman

RMS isn’t a very active blogger – or maybe he has just stopped using that blog address – I see more current stuff on his travel site. But he’s always worth paying attention to. Maybe not for his politics, but for what he has done for free software. Without him the world of computers would be very different – a far more hostile to its users.

So don’t take this as an endorsement of everything RMS does, take it as a nod to one of the great ones in the industry.

An Entrepeneur Who’s Doing Good

Mark Shuttleworth has always impressed me. He allows the child in him to show (first African in space, anyone?), he allows the business person in him to show (after all, he made millions selling Thawte to VeriSign). And he’s now revolutionizing the IT industry (as he is the brain and money behind Ubuntu).

His blog covers lots of topics, from Linux to economy and politics. Definitely worth a read.
